Slip and Falls
More often than not, premise liability involves “slip and fall” cases. Injuries that result in slip and fall cases are sprains, strains, lacerations, brain injuries, bruises, hip injuries, wrist injuries, knee injuries and fractured bones. Some common areas slip and fall occur are: slippery floors, ramps, cluttered walkways, uneven surfaces, unstable work surfaces, unguarded heights, faulty hand railings and doorways.
If you have the misfortune of suffering this injury, you should immediately:
- Notify the property owner and document the time, place and conditions of where you fell. Be sure to obtain a copy of the report.
- Request a copy of the security footage
- Determine the cause of your fall
- Take the names of any witnesses that were there.
- Take multiple pictures of the scene and your injuries.
- Seek immediate medical care
